Controls & Protection
Distributed Control System (DCS)
The primary process-control environment used to monitor variables, execute control loops, present alarms and support operator interaction with the facility.
Why it matters
The DCS is the main operating interface for process trends, setpoints, alarms and control actions, but it is not the same as an independent SIS.
