Pressure Protection
Blowdown Valve (BDV)
An actuated valve used to depressurize process equipment or piping to a disposal system under defined operating or emergency conditions.
Why it matters
BDV operation changes pressure rapidly and can create very low temperatures, high flare loads and important sequencing dependencies.
